Women In Fundoshi
The fundoshi's sensual and fetish potential is definitely not reserved to males, although the vast majority of photographs I encounter depict men in fundoshi.
Women wear fundoshi in both traditional and contemporary settings: we've previously highlighted the female free-divers (ama) who wear fundoshi while gathering pearls and other marine treasures. There is also an active popular movement currently in Japan to reintroduce fundoshi to women's daily wear as undergarments, rebranded as "prendre shorts." Finally, in the realm of fetish (which is what this post focuses on), fundoshi introduces a potent visual element into sexual scenarios and mild bondage/BDSM scenes that elevates them above and beyond the ordinary.
It's been suggested that the fundoshi represents the Japanese ideal of masculine athleticism in art/pornography not unlike the Western jockstrap's adoption as a major gay trope. Transferring that interpretation to the hips of females imparts new power to these images, combining traditional/stereotypical ideals of femininity with a freshly amplified eroticism.
I would love to see that idea further explored by women who enjoy fundoshi!

Fundoshi Bondage Part 3 of 3
The kinbaku-themed posts on this site have received the most +1s, gotten the most comments and re-posts, and often gather two or three times the number of site hits as an average Fundoshi 4 All post! What is it about erotic bondage that flips the switch of fundoshi enthusiasts and non-fundoshi enthusiasts alike? Wikipedia is pretty informative on the history of Japanese Rope Bondage, but skirts around any sort of analysis. I think it may be as simple as the desire to be conquered, or "won," to be a prisoner at the whims of your (hopefully benevolent) captor, but also to embrace the elements of faith, danger, trust, pain, empathy, experiment, and submission. To surrender control, sexually, but within the agreed upon boundaries of a traditional and ritualized art form.
This is the third (and last, for now anyway) installment of Komatsu Komatsu's amazing photo collection. I am in awe of many of these, eager to learn, and very thankful for the ability to share them with you. I hope you've enjoyed this aesthetically as well as sensually!

Fundoshi Bondage Part 2 of 3
In the spirit of giving the people what they want, here is the second part of a three parter devoted to the amazing bondage photography collected by Komatsu Komatsu. Sizzling hot and clearly exciting to the engorged and perspiring recipient, bondage photography also gives the you and I voyeurs a perfect opportunity to let his or her eye wander all over the subject; caressing the delicate areas, flicking the erogenous zones with mental fingertips or tongues, penetrating at will (at least visually) the splayed-out yet willing submissive. The fundoshi itself is a clever series of twists and simple knots, a sort of "soft bondage," as French freelance journalist Camille Oger once observed.

Fundoshi Bondage Part 1 of 3
Some of the most popular posts ever here have involved kinbaku, the art of erotic binding. For the next few posts, I'd like to feature some astonishing beautiful photos compiled by facebook friend Komatsu Komatsu. These fundoshi-clad submissives are captured in various states of sweet agony and tense arousal, giving delayed gratification new meaning and urgency!

Rope Master
From Wikipedia:
"Bondage as a sexual activity first came to notice in Japan in the late Edo period.[5] Generally recognized as "father of Kinbaku" is Seiu Ito, who started studying and researching Hojōjutsu is credited with the inception of Kinbaku, though it is noted that he drew inspiration from other art forms of the time including Kabuki theatre and Ukiyoe woodblock prints. Kinbaku became widely popular in Japan in the 1950s through magazines such as Kitan Club and Yomikiri Romance, which published the first naked bondage photographs. In the 1960s, people such as Eikichi Osada began to appear performing live SM shows often including a large amount of rope bondage, today these performers are often referred to as Nawashi (rope master) or Bakushi (from kinbakushi, meaning bondage master)."

Sleeping Dragon!
For all the years that I've been interested in fundoshi, Sleeping Dragon has been a source of inspiration and an amazing fountain of intoxicating fundoshi pictures. Besides fundoshi, he's interested in a wide range of BDSM and is an excellent erotic storyteller. I want to feature a few of my favorite photos of his in gratitude.
Thank you, for all the imaginative and magnetically sexy pictures, stories, and other contributions you make!

Tipsy with a Camera
I broke one of the cardinal rules of being drunk and horny: stay away from the camera! After an afternoon of google-searching fundoshi stuff I got distracted by some rather spicy bisexual porn. The next thing I knew, I had consumed a few beers and made an amateurish attempt to truss myself up with some clothesline like some of the artistic/erotic kinbaku rope bondage I've posted here before. I also liberally lubed up a brand new butt plug (the biggest one I've ever attempted!) and secured it in place underneath the ropes and a black gauze fundoshi. Then I posed and snapped away.

Wrapped, Knotted, And Lashed: Fundoshi/Kinbaku
Once again, many of these come to your eyes via Zzzdragon. One is the amazing photography of Piez, a couple are drawings by famous Bara artist Goh Mishima, and a handful come from Asian porn legend Van Darkholme's Bound Gods site. Enjoy!

Kinbaku Explosion!
These magnificent shots come via zzzdragon bdsm pics collection, and ably demonstrate what a fundoshi, some rope, and a little ingenuity can result in! It occurs to me that you can take a little piece of this erotic bondage with you, every day, underneath your worn jeans as easily as secretly beneath your pressed business suit: fundoshi, by itself, is a sort of soft bondage. The winding and wrapping and knotting and cinching of the cloth gently constricts your abdomen, your rounded balls, your perineum mound. It feels stimulating throughout the day -- and provides a visual surprise to whoever's lucky enough to undress you!
