Fundoshi Inspiration

Fundoshi can be a very inspiring subject for artists, and here is a gathering of some drawings, paintings, and illustrations I've found that I enjoy, and that include fundoshi as a major element.

From time to time I've thought about staging a fundoshi-themed art and photography contest -- maybe not a contest so much as a blog-based exhibit of works featuring the fundoshi. I'd like people of any skill level to feel comfortable getting involved. Hey, even an interesting snapshot or a sketch on some notebook paper can be a way to express your fundoshi-clad self!

Very nice interpretations of the fundoshi theme, each offering a very different impression and emotion. Very cool!

Great idea! I like the more realistic and erotic images, how do we add our own pix?

Two points: A) I like the way a fundoshi shows glimpses of "man fur". I have always heard that pubic hair is a real no-no in Japan yet it seems to be okay if a fundoshi reveals just a little. I think it's sexy, alluring, erotic and in good taste while maintaining the mystery by not showing everything. It is interesting how this carries over into the world of art. B) The drawing of the guy tied up here made me think. This theme has appeared here before and interested me. Last night we tried it on a limited basis. We're certainly not pros but I ended up tied, at my partner's mercy, without any say in what took place and I was only untied after it was over. It is mind-blowing to do this when two people can "read" each other and to beg, to be used and enjoyed as my partner wanted. It was totally wild and my fundoshi stayed on the whole time too.

Hey, if you'd like to submit your own pics, you can e-mail them to ihsodnufraew (at) yahoo (dotcom) -- I'd love to see them!

John, sounds like you had a great time in your fundoshi the other night! Does your partner read the blog with you? Just curious.

Yes, we do look at this together. We both enjoy the images and text here. As you can see, we also get some ideas here as well. :) Since embracing the fundoshi lifestyle, I really feel free of others' rules and have found that it's possible to celebrate masculinity and being male through some very submissive activities. Not only does my fundoshi feel and look great but I feel a real freedom to express myself physically and this has been welcomed. There's a new sheriff in town and he wears a sexy loincloth! :)

That's awesome! Hey, how did the dot-patterned fabric work out?

I like it as a break from solid colors. I don't know what it is about the dots but I like the look. Funny you should ask I'm out of town on business and maintenance came to my room to replace the shower head. I didn't hear him knock, so he came in and I was wearing only my dot fundoshi. He was embarrassed but I told him to do what he needed to do. He said something about walking in on me in my underwear and I said it was a fundoshi and called it loungewear. He seemed cool and before he left he said, "Doesn't that hurt?" :) I explained the custom fit and how it feels good especially in hot weather then I showed him another one I brought and he seemed amazed a simple strip of fabric could become supportive "loungewear" just by the way it is tied.

Great fundoshi encounter. I really feel like more people would choose fundoshi if they only knew about it! So we're getting there. bit by bit.
